...and the entry form is on the Notebook
After four successive defeats, the Fifers were mightily relived to squeeze a 1-0 victory from Saturday’s match with Montrose. It was a win that we just about deserved, though our superior stats did not results in us having more shots on goal – Montrose outshot is 5-6. There is dissent in the camp at the moment, resulting in ill-discipline and over-aggression earnt Scott Shepherd two yellow cards, reducing us to ten men after 64 minutes. But to give them credit, the team hung on in there and a thunderbolt strike from Trevor Brooking (pictured) grabbed the three points for us in the 82nd minute.
Our second match was a visit to Elgin City, who licked us with a bit to spare. We were forced to play the match with only one forward and produced very few chances that that forward might have scored from. Meanwhile, Elgin were very much at ease and knocked three goals in at the other end.
We remain in the relegation playoff spots and welcome the SESL Cup as a chance to regroup. MSA has left us somewhat depleted and there are many wounds to lick….
