It seems to me PT are having a season of training up age 0 GK to sell on and, given their league position, I was wondering, why waste cash on Physio Boost. Four GKs in the squad, including two who are not going anywhere for at least 10 matches. With -15 EL, the guy will not be fit for either of the upcoming Cup games with or without the Boost. Why bother.
Interesting...
Thanks for the nudge James.
line-up going in now.
In fact, I'll do 2 lineups to cover Wednesday in advance also.
It is really easy to do two lineups at once and manage/guess EL.
The schedule has been in place, but I am conditioned after so many seasons to Saturday and occasionally Wednesday. This new, relatively, faster pace still catches me out.
And, with 46 minutes to Kick Off, there are 15 teams without a line-up submitted so I am not alone!
The business profits were hit though by the number of locks required for his attic.
Fair comment James, but schedule been in place a couple of weeks or so.
I'd play a cup game every other day or so, to get thru the 5 group matches.
Monday Wednesday Friday Monday Wednesday
Decent patter Andrew.
......started such a trend that I started a successful boat building business in the attic of my house. Sails are going through the roof!
I remember a time when the SESL Cup group stage was played over 5 days, 1 day for each game on Wednesday and Saturday. It was I found a welcome slow down in pace to refresh the batteries. Now we have 5 games in 7 days, and they always (almost this year) catch me out. So perhaps I am becoming an old curmudgeon but I miss the old slower days.
Although as I am now taken to enjoying Canal Boat Diaries on Yesterday maybe I should inject some energy back into life!

I didn't think for a moment you were blaming me for anything. I fully understood your original point. Valid question.
If my first message wasn't clear, I'm not trying to blame you for anything. I'm just trying to remind managers that they are passing up a lot of free cash by skipping the retirement window if they are interested in opening up roster slots.
...and the entry form is on the Notebook
Player Value?
Focusing on the Retirement Price is fine, if you plan to use that method, but if you have a big a squad and want to bring in a player or two via trade or auction then you will have to retire one or two players for 0k. So what is the value of such a player?
I deliberately looked for teams with a large squad who 'might' find themselves in this situation.
Personally, I was willing to pay more than 0k, and I think I was rather generous.
After Wednesday their value dropped significantly. The next time they can be traded in they will be a 5/5 and 6/5 and the next time they can be traded in with no apprentice it would be 5/4 and 6/3. That's a drop to 60k/50k or 48k/30k.
Clever bit of trading by DUM.
If a 1,200k player traded for 100k would the same percentage difference cause a riot compared to 10k for 120k value?
Maybe QOS and BER should blog what their thinking was with these trades so the transactions are not reversed?
Not criticizing, but I do wonder why a couple managers are selling players for 10k that they could have retired for 120k and 96k three days ago on Wednesday. They're not good enough players that this feels like a big steal for DUM, but that is a lot for missed cash for QOS and BER. Again, not crying foul, just may be worth bookmarking the second retirement window for next season
DUM sends 10k to QOS for No Salad (4/8 FW)
DUM sends 10k to BER for M_Yardley (5/8 FW)
PT sends 25k to SM for Will Fish (6/3 DF)

Glad to see our bad luck has come down (AKA the numbers show we got some luck last weekend). We got very lucky in our win at DUM, and I was hoping the numbers would show it. A little luck to balance out some of our bad luck weeks ago. Feels like we are within a normal range of variance at this point - but I will hope we keep climbing towards 0

HEA might still get lucky occasionally - but #1 here goes to ARB, now with double digits.
The top 3 now with a solid lead.
After four successive defeats, the Fifers were mightily relived to squeeze a 1-0 victory from Saturday’s match with Montrose. It was a win that we just about deserved, though our superior stats did not results in us having more shots on goal – Montrose outshot is 5-6. There is dissent in the camp at the moment, resulting in ill-discipline and over-aggression earnt Scott Shepherd two yellow cards, reducing us to ten men after 64 minutes. But to give them credit, the team hung on in there and a thunderbolt strike from Trevor Brooking (pictured) grabbed the three points for us in the 82nd minute.
Our second match was a visit to Elgin City, who licked us with a bit to spare. We were forced to play the match with only one forward and produced very few chances that that forward might have scored from. Meanwhile, Elgin were very much at ease and knocked three goals in at the other end.
We remain in the relegation playoff spots and welcome the SESL Cup as a chance to regroup. MSA has left us somewhat depleted and there are many wounds to lick….

The new sole leaders are Cowdenbeath.
Celtics are still waiting for their 1st junk lineup faced.
More interesting mid-season numbers:
All numbers seem quite within reason and randomness.
While last season raised the question of certain junk profiteers, this looks quite ok for me - Celtics may see it differently.

(best wait until after mid season ageing so you list correct skill levels)
Cash-in your old players for money before match 28 kicks off.
There is no requirement to buy an apprentice as 2nd option of season is just a straight cash-in.
Managers will post on NOTEBOOK what the aged SL and value is of players being retired, plus a total amount due.
Link to Notebook is top right of screen beside the 'log out' button.
Managers will retire players themselves before Sesl cup match kick offs Wed 19th Feb, 3pm.
Commish within 24 hours will add cash in full of the players that were retired before deadline.
Any player retired by accident cannot be re-introduced to the game as database does not facilitate this.
(an exeption may be made if a valuable apprentice is maybe retired in error,
but the player would need created from scratch and will have lost his history)
any player age 4+ with SL12 or less is eligable to be cashed in.
Age 4 players at 15k per SL
Age 5 players at 12k per SL
Age 6 players at 10k per SL
Age 7+ players at 8k per SL
After match 27 I'm afraid chaps.
SRA history last 11 seasons shows a handful of cup wins, and a few cup runner-up spots too.
Hold your head up.
SRA extend their sincere congratulations to Eduard and his lads on a fine performance in the Cup Final. At 2-nil up we had it in the bag but his team showed commitment and resolve to end a fine campaign. Well done!

Neither the strength of opposition nor superstar rolls nor injuries nor ...
However, if anyone but MOT should win the div1 this season, they will have to be quite lucky.
